What is Meta Tag
Meta tags are the self defined tags. Meta tags provide the extra information about the webpage.
Meta tags play important role in search engine optimization. There are more than 100 Meta tags which we can use but the most important Meta tags are Title, Description and Keywords tag.
Title: Limit your title within 60- 80 characters. Use your important keyword in the title. This tag needs special attention because of high prominence. This tag helps a lot in search engine optimization.
Note: This is very important tag because the content in this tag show at the top of browser when the page loads. It also appears as the link text when the site listed in search result.
Description: Limit your description within 160-180 characters. Use your keywords in the description. This is also prominent and helps in search engine optimization.
Note: Your description should be descriptive and able to attract the visitors.
Keywords: Use the targeted key phrases in this tag. Some search engine list their result according to this tag. You can use around 20 key phrases in this tag.
